DCA Nepal seeks application from female candidates who is keen to build foundation for challenging and rewarding career in an international development environment through hands-on knowledge and practical experience as Trainee in the capacity of MEAL Associate. This is an opportunity starting immediately for one year based at Nepal Country Office, Kathmandu.
The Trainee reports to MEAL Manager and will support to develop structured MEAL processes to generate ideas, tools & techniques, assist in database management and strengthening innovative relief efforts through presentations and assist to design smart forms in Magpi for periodic survey. She will collect key problems of the communities including potential solutions options and also follow up with partner organization to upload periodic data like gift catalogue details, distribution tracker details, commercial vegetable farming details in Magpi.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support in developing and strengthening MEAL procedures & systems in DCA Partner NGOs
- Support in designing tools/techniques for conducting assessments such as baselines, needs identification/assessments, and studies or research
- Coordinate and support PNGOs for data base design as well as effective data management of DCA funded project (s)
- Review project documents submitted by PNGOs, ensure the quality of date/information and provide suggestions/inputs for further improvement of the logical frame work
- Conduct field monitoring visits on a regular basis and monitor the overall progress on achievement of results and the sustainability of the project’s results
- Prepare quarterly summary report based on the complaint and feedback database received on programmatic areas with enhanced data visualization
- Support MEAL Manager to establish, manage, and strengthen Accountability Improvement Plan and its implementation with partners
- Provide list of key area for documentation with content to Communication team and work closely to produce stories that are particularly focusing on documenting program impacts and learning
- Produce and share organizational learning from MEAL process with the DCA team and partner organizations and document as per DCA learning framework
- Support MEAL Manager to mainstream CHS in project cycle management.
What you bring: - Master’s degree (preference will be given to areas of IT or Social work or any other relevant subject with some experience).
- Strong report writing and documentation skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills both in English and Nepali.
- Adequate knowledge on Microsoft office with hands on experience in Excel-database management
- Good coordination and networking skills
- Proactive with high aptitude to learn and work with team
